Professional Experience
Brian Deese is a member of Everview’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Deese is an Institute Innovation Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he focuses on U.S. economic policy, industrial capacity, clean energy, and innovation. He previously served as Director of the White House National Economic Council, where, from 2021-2023, he coordinated domestic and international economic policy for the United States. Mr. Deese was the Biden Administration’s primary policy negotiator for the infrastructure, semiconductor, and clean energy legislation passed in 2021 and 2022.
Prior to this, from 2017 to 2020, Mr. Deese was Global Head of Sustainable Investing at BlackRock, where he built, launched, and grew multiple public and private market investment strategies, with a focus on the global energy transition.
Mr. Deese also served as Senior Advisor to President Obama, where he was instrumental in the U.S. auto industry rescue and the negotiation of the Paris Climate Agreement. He also held roles as Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council.
Mr. Deese serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Global Development.
