Greg Ressa is an Executive Advisor 5 focused on investments at Everview.

Mr. Ressa served as a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP for 29 years and was Head of its Real Estate Practice from 2004 to 2023. Mr. Ressa’s practice spanned all aspects of the real estate industry, with particular emphasis on representation of real estate opportunity funds, real estate mergers and acquisitions, and real estate finance. Mr. Ressa has advised on over $200 billion of transactions, both domestic and international, on behalf of clients such as Blackstone, Northwood Investors, Centerbridge, Hilton Worldwide, Invitation Homes, AIG, and Sterling Investors, among others. Examples of transactions on which Mr. Ressa advised include the $39 billion acquisition of Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE: EOP) by Blackstone, the $26 billion acquisition of Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE: HLT) by Blackstone, the investment in Upward America Venture, Lennar’s $4 billion single family rental platform, by Centerbridge, the sale of a 65% controlling interest in Great Wolf Resorts by affiliates of Centerbridge at a $2.9 billion valuation, the $1.25 billion acquisition by Blackstone of a 20% interest in a joint venture with the FDIC to hold a $16.8 billion senior mortgage loan portfolio retained in receivership following the failure of Signature Bank and the $1.25 billion joint venture between Centerbridge and Suntex to acquire marinas across the United States.

Mr. Ressa has been ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Real Estate: Corporate (New York). He has also been ranked in the Hall of Fame by The Legal 500 United States.

Mr. Ressa joined Simpson Thacher in 1987 and was elected to become a member of the Simpson Thacher in November 1995. Mr. Ressa has served as a member of Simpson Thacher’s Executive Committee. Mr. Ressa serves on the Board of Trustees of Historic Hudson Valley.
